The Myrdal farm

Myrdal gard is located right on the foot of the highest mountain of the island where a sherpa build stairway will help you reach the top and its amazing views of the fjords, if you decide to the hike the mountain.

On the farm Jasper and Nynke van Schaik combine the famous Dutch cheese tradition with good local ingredients. In the farmshop they sell their award winning cheeses produced with milk from surrounding farmers. Besides cheese you can buy other dairyproducts like icecream and yoghurt as well as homemade jams and baked goods and produce from other local farms. In the woodfired oven they melt their cheeses on homemade pizzas which on their own are a reason to drive up to the farm.

When the farmshop is open it is also possible to book a tour in the cheesery combined with cheesetasting

The Myrvold farm at Huglo

At Myrvold, Lillian is responsible for the production, with a strong focus on local processing of milk from the farm’s own animals. The milk comes from three rare Norwegian cattle breeds: Vestland Fjord cattle, Telemark cattle and Døla cattle, forming the foundation of the small on-site dairy.

Once the calves have had their share, the milk is further processed into yoghurt, sour cream, kefir, cheese and butter, as well as fresh milk delivered in glass bottles. Milk and cream from the cows, together with eggs from the farm’s hens, are used to create delicious locally made ice cream.

Lillian also offers an exciting selection of salts, oils, syrups and purées in the farm shop. The oils are made using traditional recipes and infused with flavours from the surrounding nature, including herbs and berries gathered locally.

In the farm shop, you will also find a varied selection of meat from goat, lamb and wool pigs, as well as sausages specially made for the farm by Brødrene Lundal.

E H Vaage landhandleri, bageri og dampskibsexpedition

Chocolate factory, restaurant and sale of local craft products. The shop is today like a living museum, where you can see what a coastal trading post could have been like 100 years ago.

In 1895, Engelaus H Vaage took over the trading post from his father at Eie in Uggdal. He married rich and built the shop, where it stands today, in 1902. It was later run by his son Ole Vaage, until it was closed in 1987. In recent years, Haaheim Gaard has restored it and made it their seafront experience. Haaheim Chocolate also has its production and sale of handmade confectionery here.

Relax and enjoy an experience from a bygone era!

Homemade by Robles

Heimalaga av Robles (Norw. name) is a small home bakery in Myrdal run by Nicole Andrea Robles. She takes orders for bread, rolls, buns and other sweet baked goods from both private customers and businesses.

Nicole enjoys experimenting with different spices and fillings, so if you have an idea for something a little out of the ordinary, she is happy to take on the challenge. Throughout the year, she creates her own seasonal variations of buns – from Easter buns with orange and chocolate in spring to gingerbread-spiced buns in December. Always made with generous amounts of quality ingredients that make the baked goods moist and full of flavour.

She also sells her popular braided cinnamon buns at Meirbruk in Våge most Saturdays. Feel free to follow her Facebook page to stay updated on when fresh buns are available in the shop.

The Dalland farm

Anders and Irene Dalland's vision is to run the farm in a sustainable and natural way, with the best interests of the animals in focus. They have a strong wish that the animals should be allowed to live on their own terms, not on the terms of capital-driven industrial food production. They must live off and in nature, and make use of the resources available on the farm. This demands a lot from the farmers, but the result is a meat product of a completely distinctive quality.

Garden at Dalland have the old norwegian cattle breed "Vestlandsk fjordfe" and the old norwegian breed of sheep "Gammalnorsk sau". The Dalland family use the virtual fencing system "Nofence", and thus the animals are free to roam the countryside within virtual fences.

Follow the farm on Facebook and Instagram for updates and information on where you can buy their products.
