Haaheim Gaard

At Haaheim Gaard, food with a history and local roots is central to all the guesthouses. The hotel has its own gardener who turn the garden into an abundance of produce every year.  We harvest herbs, vegetables, fruit and berries and our chef makes sure to use it in the dishes served.

Choose between a 3-course, 5-course or 7-course menu, with, among other things, wine from the wine cellar, Haaheim's own beer or apple cider from Hardanger.

The chef varies the menu from day to day.

Mandelhuset

Like a white pearl, right on the waterfront in Våge, lies Mandelhuset.

The three old white houses with green mouldings on the old steamboat quay, used to be a general store and quay for the fjord boats. Now the place has been transformed into a warm and cosy restaurant where the kitchen uses Norwegian ingredients to conjure up great dining experiences for you and yours.

The current owners have been running Mandelhuset since 2005, but Mandelhuset came into being in 1995 when the country store closed down in 1994 after being in operation since 1923.

Our task is to be a good restaurant and meeting place in Tysnes, we will do our part to make Tysnes a good place to live and visit.

Kompasset Bar and Restaurant

At Kompasset Bar og Spiseri in Uggdal you can enjoy a juicy burger right on the seafront, or maybe you want to try the popular kebab roll? Ice cream, slush and other goodies can also be bought here, and the sun shines on the outdoor terrace until late in the evening.

If you come by boat, you can moor at the guest jetty.

Kompasset also offers catering if you book in advance.

Myrdal gard

It is a must to visit Myrdal gard when you are in Tysnes. Here you can buy delicious pizza from the wood-fired pizza oven, with a range of tempting flavours and cheeses from the farms artisan cheese dairy.

Home-made tapas can also be found on the menu, if you want something salty and good. Feel free to take a trip to Tysnessåto first, the food will taste extra good after climbing the sherpa steps up to the top.

In the farm shop, you can indulge in locally produced products such as cheese, yoghurt, ice cream, eggs, meat and freshly baked goods. Myrdal gard also sells jam, juice and sausages from other local food producers.

E H Vaage landhandleri, bageri og dampskibsexpedition

E H Vaage always has a lot of good things in their shelves - everything from homemade chocolates and confectionery, to macaroons and homemade jam and cookies. If you're lucky, you might be able to buy fresh donuts or other baked goods.

Outside there are chairs and tables with a great sea view.

Laukhamar Fritid

Laukhamar Fritid at the island of Skorpo, serves good traditional food, including dishes with lamb from its own farm. Open for Sunday dinner about twice a month, this is announced on the Facebook page of Laukhamar Fritid.

Outside of the announced opening hours, the host accepts bookings for parties and offers accommodation all year round. In the bright and pleasant dining room, there is room for around 70 people.

Ivyelli

You can find Ivyelli - coffee and clothes in Svingen in the center of Våge. The shop is full of gorgeous things that girls want, - clothes, wellness products, gourmet products, great interior items and other small surprises.

The coffee bar has a good selection of delicious, freshly ground coffee that you can enjoy inside or "to go".

The floating boathouse in Våge

The floating boathouse - Tysnes municipality's tourist information is at the center of the harbor in Våge. Here there is both an ice cream bar, freshly made waffles and a Tysnesfest shop.

Open from mid-June to mid-August, Tuesday-Sunday.

The cafe in OnarTun

A self service cafe, where you can help yourself to free coffee.

You can also buy delicious soft ice cream if you contact the customer service in the Joker shop.

The cafe is for everyone, and is a nice place to take a breather.
